About Kristina
Kristina Blaumane was born in Riga, Latvia and has twice won the Great Music Award, the Latvian State’s highest music honour. She currently holds the Chair of Principal Violoncello with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Blaumane is an exceptional musician, and aside from her solo appearances, she has performed chamber music in partnership with eminent artists such as Isaac Stern, Yo Yo Ma, Misha Maisky, Yuri Bashmet, Gideon Kremer, Leiv Ove Andsnes, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin and Dmitry Sitkovetsky.
